UPDATE: We have been advised that these cuts may be larger. Working on getting more information. (May 17, 2016)
On May 11, 2016, CPSApples2Apples posted a list of potential budget cuts for non-options CPS schools in 2016-2017, estimated from the information shared by CPS Central Office with selected principals and administrators.
On May 12, the Chicago Sun Times and the Chicago Tribune confirmed this.
We can only estimate the non-options schools at this time because it is very difficult to obtain accurate Student Based Budgeting (SBB) amounts for Charter, Contract, Alternative and other privately-run schools that are funded through CPS.
Other cuts could include assistant principal positions at some schools and magnet school positions at CPS magnet and magnet cluster schools. The specific figures for these costs are also difficult to extract cleanly from the Interactive CPS Budget site.
Here is a map of those potential SBB budget cuts for non-options CPS schools for the 2016-2017 school year.
