For this year’s version of the CPS Elementary Version of Apples 2 Apples, we tried to create a set of CPS elementary schools that had some basic commonalities.

If you’ve ever crunched CPS school data before or, heck, even just looked through the CPS Options for Knowledge brochure 100+ page catalog, you know that there are more types, flavors, and constructions of CPS schools than you could ever imagine.  It makes it a little more difficult to compare or rank them.  But we gave it a shot.

Here is the current list of who is included in the CPS Elementary Dataset for this round and  here is the list of who didn’t (and why they didn’t even though they might be listed in some of the source reports we used for our data gathering.)

This will, of course, all change for 2013.  Yay?
